Welcome to my Continental Divide Trail (CDT) information center. I hiked the Trail in 2005, leaving the Canadian border on June 11 and arriving at the Mexican border on October 30. Along the way I passed through some of the most amazing scenery in the United States. You can access my writings from the Trail by clicking on Hike Journal and see some of my photographs by clicking on the Hike Photos link.

As I prepared for my hike, I reviewed a lot of information about the CDT and how to hike it. Having now completed my hike I have some observations to make about the Trail that I have included under Hike Summary. On a separate Hike Gear page I discuss what I carried and what I thought of it.

I was helped tremendously by others in my preparation for the hike. Hoping to return the favor I have created a Hike Planning page for downloads and links that might be useful to other hikers considering taking on the challenge of the CDT.

While not as risky as driving a car, hiking does have its dangers. As with any information you find on the web, please consider carefully what is fact and what is opinion. Just because I say it worked for me does not necessarily mean it will work for you. If you have questions or comments, you can reach me via the Contact link.
